Barking up the wrong tree? Yesterday it was the Institute of Education Business Excellence conference at the Hilton Metropole at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. Which would have been fine apart from it being the first day of Crufts. Glad they gave us bacon rolls for breakfast not hot dogs. Talking of hot dogs, I was mightily impressed with the approach that McDonald’s take to providing work experience for schools students. And that their lady actually knows how to use PowerPoint to great effect. They also have a Chief People Officer. None of this Human Remains, sorry, Resources nonsense. Ah yes, nonsense. Well, there was a government minister there. Unfortunately not for long enough to hear the overriding view that targets and testing have buggered up our education system.
